I’d been watching Los Angeles superfood cafe Beaming ever since their opening, and according to Instagram, they’ve mastered the superfood living. So when Beaming invited me to host a superfood party, I was game.
I arrived at LAX, dropped off my bags, and headed straight to Beaming Santa Monica to meet the PR team and Lisa Odenweller, Beaming’s founder. It was such a delight to spend some time with her over a tasting of Beaming’s treats. Lisa is a real power player and happens to be one of 100 Women To Watch In Wellness, according to MindBodyGreen. It’s always incredible to work with someone who’s so authentically passionate about what they do.
After a couple of protein truffles and a “Nasty Bi*&ch” shot (yes, it’s an actual name of a healing shot with almond milk, cacao, goji berries, ashwaghanda and cinnamon), I went for a beach run to Santa Monica boardwalk. One thought kept coming up in my mind. “Why would you live anywhere else other than LA?
There’s sun, beach, superfood cafes, and it smells like heavenly blossoming flowers anywhere you turn.
Even though I don’t plan to move Breakfast Criminals HQ to the West Coast anytime soon, I will take and indulge any opportunity to visit.
The master class was focused on the art of building an acai bowl. We made the Beaming protein acai bowls while Lisa and I talked about our favorite superfoods, their benefits, and tips on blending. Then, we had a DIY topping bar (my favorite part!) and a fun giveaway of Dastony Cashew Butter and the heart bowl.
It was such a delight to meet everyone and blend together–thanks to all who came! If you missed out, no big deal–stay tuned for more upcoming events (like acai bowl and goddess dance retreat in Brazil), and try Beaming’s Acai Protein Bowl recipe (so easy to make!)
