Açaí bowls are usually thought of as a sugar-rich dessert. Not at Breakfast Criminals HQ! We’re all about protein-packed, nutrient dense, low sugar breakfast – and açaí bowls are no exception.
They make a perfect post-workout meal or a fantastic breakfast-for-dinner meal (I know you love these!). One serving of the Protein Açaí Bowl with Oat Milk has 20 grams of sustainable plant protein, and the oat milk makes it extra creamy and fiber-rich.
Are you ready to take your açaí bowl game to the next level?
I haven’t been eating a lot of cold foods during winter, and now that the weather is warming up, I’m excited to get back into the açaí bowl game! After recipe testing with Biochem plant protein, I’ve found my go-to recipe for the season, and am excited to share it with you.
But first, let’s talk plant protein. How do you go about choosing it?
I’m picky when it comes to plant protein powders. These are the things I look out for:
- Clean ingredients, sustainable when possible
- High protein
- Taste!
Biochem Plant Proteins are non-GMO tested, gluten-free, include 3 plant sources with a complete amino acid profile and 20 grams of plant protein per serving that comes from pea and brown rice protein that’s been fermented with mycelium of shiitake mushroom. It has no soy, yeast, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors. Sweetened with monk fruit, it has zero grams of sugar.
Onto taste!
After testing the Biochem Plant Protein in several recipes, I’m happy to share that it has passed the Breakfast Criminals test and is especially great in açaí bowls. I’ve been using the plain Plant Protein Vanilla Flavor. Other options are:
- Plant Protein Flex Vanilla Flavor (with turmeric and ginger) that supports flexible joints and bone and joint health
- Plant Protein Lean Vanilla Flavor (with capsicum and coffee berry) that can help with appetite control and metabolizing fat
- Plant Protein Mood Vanilla Flavor (with ashwagandha, moringa & passionflower) that can help with stress and tiredness.
Biochem is an innovator in the protein powder space, and I love that they’re bringing sustainability into plant protein by using mycelium fermentation technologies.
Biochem’s parent company, Country Life, is also a certified B-corporation, meaning that it meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.
Let’s get blending!
