When my favorite essential oil and organic beauty brand Aura Cacia (I swear by their argan oil and put it on nightly!), invited me to be part of Scents Of Balance Journey – a 7-week blog series focusing on each of the seven chakras, I was in (and so was my heart bowl!). Here’s the delicious result reposted from auracacia.com.
The heart chakra, known in Sanskrit as the anahata, stands for unhurt, unbeaten and unstruck — in other words, complete bliss. Responsible for evolved, or higher level emotions, the heart chakra is related to our ability to love and is a source of compassion. When your heart chakra is in balance, you feel deeply connected to all beings and experience an abundance of love, peace and acceptance. Unconditional love is centered at the heart chakra, and its creative and powerful energy can guide and help us through the most difficult times. This energy is available in any moment, as long as we turn our attention to it.
nourishing your heart chakra
Each chakra has yoga poses, colors, stones, sounds and mantras that fuel it. Nourishing, wholesome food is another way to balance your chakras. For your heart chakra, the color is green and the mantra is yam. So, let’s make the “yum” happen with a delicious, green smoothie bowl for your heart chakra!
The recipe below will nourish your heart chakra through leafy green ingredients. Any green vegetables will help support your heart chakra, but my favorites are kale and spinach, as they don’t take away from the taste of smoothie bowls. Packed with antioxidants, minerals, plant-based protein, fiber and healthy fat, this plant-based, gluten-free and added sugar-free smoothie bowl is the perfect way to start your day with an open heart.
Also, when you prepare your food with love, it infuses the meal with your heart’s vibration, nourishing not just the body, but also the soul. Enjoy!
