Traditionally a Brazilian treat, açaí smoothie bowls make for a perfect breakfast. The fun part about them is that you can make them completely your own, depending on what’s in you fridge/freezer!
One beautiful Saturday morning, I had the pleasure of sharing an açaí bowl superfood breakfast with the amazing Tara Stiles before heading to Strala for a fun and sweaty yoga class that felt more like a dance party.
Tara came up to me in the middle of the class to say how energetic the brekkie made her feel. Yes, eating a delicious superfood breakfast prepared with love does that to you :) I’m so happy to have introduced Tara to acai bowls. Here’s the recipe – enjoy!
Berry Avocado Breakfast Açaí Bowl
*Vegan, Dairy Free, Soy Free | Serves 2
INGREDIENTS TO BLEND:
- 2 Sambazon unsweetened açaí smoothie packs
- 1/2 cup blackberries & blueberries
- 1 ripe banana (I use frozen banana for extra creaminess)
- 1/2 cup spinach
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 tsp. Maca (optional, a superfood energy boost)
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon (I use Frontier Coop, it’s so much more flavorful than any other brand, and fair trade!)
- 1 cup coconut water
INGREDIENTS FOR TOPPING:
- Banana
- Blackberries
- Purely Elizabeth Original Granola
- Goji berries
- Mulberries
- Dang coconut chips
Directions
Blend all ingredients in top section.
Top with the ingredients given, or invent your own combination.
