There’s one dilemma that arises most of the mornings: Green or purple? Should I make a green smoothie, filled with vegetables and alkaline, or opt for a berry smoothie with powdered superfoods? Well, this question has resolved itself. Say hello to this layered Yin & Yang smoothie that combines the healthiness of greens with the goodness of berries!
You can serve this smoothie as a layered creation (by letting each layer set in the freezer before adding the next one) or as a swirly smoothie bowl.
Here’s the Recipe!
First of all, make the green and purple smoothies separately.
Green Smoothie Ingredients To Blend:
- 1 cup spinach
- Handful of mint
- 1 ripe frozen banana
- 1/3 avocado
- 1/3 mango
- 2 tbsp. chlorophyll
- 1 tsp. mesquite superfood powder (optional)
- 1 cup almond milk
Purple Smoothie Ingredients To Blend:
- Dragonfruit – 1/2 cup fresh or 1 smoothie pack (I use Pitaya Plus)
- 1/2 cup wild blueberries
- 1/3 mango
- 1 ripe frozen banana
- 1 kiwi
- Optional superfoods (mix and match: 1 tbsp. powdered baobab, 1 tbsp. lucuma, 1 tbsp. maca)
- 2 tbsp. shredded coconut
- 1 cup coconut water
Topped with raw granola (I get the Le Pain Quotidien crunola), mango and almond butter.
This raw vegan creation is full of fiber, antioxidants, healthy fats, essential minerals and vitamins, and leaves you feeling satisfied and ready to conquer the world! Try it out even if you don’t have all the ingredients. Play with it – the most important is the love that you put into making it!
