But hold on… let me take a step back and tell you my story.
MY STORY
It all started with the heart bowl. It was all alone in the corner on sale, and I was recently single, and it called to me. I had just watched Food Matters, and David Avocado Wolfe had become my idol and superfood guru, and I started posting my plant-based breakfast recipes, served in the heart bowl, on Instagram.
At the same time came liberation – I am 24, I live in the city that I saw in my dreams as a teen and fell in love with at once, I work at a luxury fashion consulting company (instead of being a “clerk at a boring office”, as one of my biggest childhood fears suggested), I have a circle of soul sisters, and I have yoga practice that makes me feel expansive and alive, and now I have this new cool way of eating and treating myself in a Holistic way, and I can connect with millions of like-minded gals around the globe using social media. It’s just the beginning, I thought. A new beginning.
So I kicked “the poor single me” attitude out the door, and started giving myself large amounts of LOVE, daily, starting with a superfood breakfast. Self-acceptance mantras (“I accept myself unconditionally right now”), creative visualization, soul readings, energy healing – it was all there. And as I was figuring out how to get in touch with my highest self (oh what a sweet and buzzy feeling!), my heart-filled Instagram started growing too. By the thousands.
Breakfast Criminals has become a movement, a place where people from all over the world can come to be reminded to start your day with love. The heart bowl has become its symbol, and it’s there to tell you: slow down, be present, savor the moment, and follow your heart. Every heart is different. Follow YOUrs.
