Instagram is how it all started for Breakfast Criminals, and it’s still a place I turn to to connect with my community and find inspiration. In “Best Instagram Breakfasts This Week” weekly roundup, I am sharing with you all my favorite whole food breakfasts found on Instagram.

This week’s creatively nourishing, mouth-watering roundup includes the most intricately topped smoothie bowls (food art!),  stunning chia parfaits, chocolate pomegranate overnight oats, delicious avocado toast, lots of figs, matcha coconut butter spread (!) and more.

Maqui chia pudding

@themintyanne: Healthy fruit salsa maqui berry chia pudding with blackberry compote & superfood chocolate

Fruit salsa ingredients: peppermint, strawbs, mango 1.mix together, done! Blackberry ‘compote’: blackberry, coconut sugar 1. blend,done!

Chia seed pudding: 2tbsp @sunfood maqui berry powder, 1 cup soy milk (Breakfast Criminals suggestion: use almond milk instead), 3 tbsp chia seeds

1.mix all together, set for 15 min to overnight, done!

Superfood chocolate is from @alohamoment ➡1.melted,slabbed and frozen, done!

@panaceas_pantry: Chia parfait & a banana-caramel-carob smoothie.

Smoothie: 

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Carob powder
  • 1 tsp. @loving_earth maca 
  • 3 medjool dates
    1/2 C or till your desired consistency @naturalrawccoconut water
    Dash your chosen milk (we used organic soy)
    1 Tbsp. Homemade coconut yoghurt

Chia parfait:

  • 1/4 C @thechiaco chia seeds
    1 Tbsp. Chosen sweetner (we used @loving_earthcoconut nectar)
    1/2 C @naturalrawc coconut water
    1/4 C homemade coconut yoghurt
    1 tsp. Vanilla extract
    Allow to set for 5 minutes

Sat there on my phone for about an hour eyeing my weights and workout mat/constantly refreshing Instagram. Decided I would get a new bikini if I did my full body BBG week 20 emoji. Made some epic avo toast for myself with vegan pesto and it’s off to the beach! emoji go outside today!!

@cacaonuts: Made coconut matcha butter this morning! It was amazing. New favourite spread. Pre ashtanga yoga snack was matcha butter and fresh figs on sprouted sourdough, one drizzled with blackstrap molasses emoji Matcha coconut butter Ingredients: 2 cups shredded coconut 1/2 cup pepitas 1 tbs @matcha_maiden matcha powder 1 tbs lucuma powder 2 tbs coconut nectar 1/4 tsp Peruvian pink salt Method: Blend shredded coconut and pepitas a high speed food processor. Stop every so often to scrape down the sides, repeating for about 13 mins until you have a creamy butter. Add in remaining ingredients and blend until combined. Enjoy!
