There were many reasons I was excited to lead yoga, dance & acai bowl retreat in Brazil with Jaycee Gossett. One of them was, of course, local açaí and all the luscious tropical fruit. But it wasn’t the tropical fruit – mangoes, flavorful bananas, zesty passion fruit, sweet papaya or even the exotic jackfruit – that repeatedly stole the show at our cozy island kitchen.
It was the TigerNut smoothie mixes from my pre-trip Whole Foods run.
If you’re not yet aware of tigernuts, it’s time to catch up. I wrote about their magic powers here and here. In short, they’re a root vegetable rich in prebiotics (a.k.a. the food for probiotics), fiber, healthy fats and proteins. They’re earthy, naturally sweet and make a great snack as is, but in powdered form, they make a next level ingredient for so many things.
Here are a few drinks, smoothies and bowls we made using the delicious Vanilla Bean and Cacao Bean TigerNut smoothie mixes (they’re organic, non-GMO, paleo and gluten free!)
GIVEAWAY: For a chance to win a set of three TigerNut smoothie mixes (Cacao Bean, Vanilla Bean and Original), comment on this blog post sharing how you’d use your TigerNut mixes! (USA only)
Stay tuned for more photos and videos from the trip, I can’t wait to share our transformational experience with you!
